Social distancing reducing the number of persons in any work area to comply with the 2-METRE gap recommended by the Public Health Agency.

 

Every possible effort will be made to enable certain staff to work from home.

 

Relocating staff to other tasks where possible.

 

Redesigning processes to ensure social distancing is in place.

Perspex will be positioned where required for office desks.

 

Conference calls to be used instead of face to face meetings

 

Ensuring sufficient rest breaks for staff.

 

Social distancing to be adhered to in canteen, tea making areas and smoking areas.

Where social distancing cannot be maintained for large to short periods for certain work tasks, a specific risk assessment must be undertaken, and control measures implemented.

Where risk assessments identify the wearing of gloves as a requirement of the job, an adequate supply of these will be provided.

 

Staff will be instructed on how to remove gloves carefully to reduce contamination and how to dispose of them safely.

 

Staff to be reminded that wearing gloves is not a substitute for good hand washing.

 

Gloves should only be used once.

 

When you take them off bin them.

Public Health Guidance on use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to protect against COVID 19 relates to health care settings.

 

In all other settings individuals are asked to observe social distancing measures and practice good hand hygiene behaviours.

 

Where RPE is a requirement for risks associated with the work undertaken the following measures will be followed-

 

Those being fitted with a non-disposable mask should clean the mask themselves before and immediately after the test using a suitable disinfectant cleaning wipe (check with the manufacturer for suitable cleaning products).

If any staff member becomes unwell of experiencing symptoms to those present with Coronavirus with a new continuous cough, sore throat, fever, breathing difficulties, or a high temperature in the workplace, or who has had close contact with someone experiencing these symptoms must not come to work. The staff member should contact their GP/Government helpline to notify them of their travel, current status and to receive advice.

The staff member should then contact the company and update them in relation to their condition and advice they have been given.

 

Line managers will offer support to staff who are affected by coronavirus or has a family member affected.

Line managers will maintain regular contact with staff members during this time.

 

If the staff member is advised by medical professionals to self-quarantine, they must do so, and only return to work when the incubation period is over, and the symptoms have gone.

 

If a staff member becomes unwell with coronavirus related symptoms whilst on site, they must make their way to a confined area and contact their manager or a member of management with immediate effect.

 

The person will be advised to liaise with their GP/Government helpline to seek further advise before leaving site, to ensure they reduce the likelihood of infecting other persons not to use public transport etc.

The working area of any staff member who suspects they may have contracted coronavirus, (including welfare facilities) will be subject to a deep clean in accordance with Government guidance.

All other staff will be advised of any persons within the workplace who have shown signs of the infection, and who are being tested for coronavirus.

However, the individual’s identity will not be disclosed during any communication / updates to staff.

 

Internal communication channels and cascading of messages through line managers will be carried out regularly to reassure and support employees in a fast-changing situation.

Testing now being implemented on Monday and wednesday morning for all staff all staff that choose not to test need to wear masks in all area’s.

Wearing masks is being eased in warehouse but still implemented in all offices.

If a positive result is recorded staff member is to stay at home and book a corona virus test at a UK official testing station.

Monday and Wednesday testing will be done department by department through the day if positive result recorded staff member will be sent home and told to get a test.

all places the person has been sanitised straight away and positive test equipment will be put in a hazardous waste bin straight away.
